Job Description

The Encompass Group is partnering with a leading construction firm in the South Miami Area to identify a skilled Construction Safety Coordinator to oversee and implement the company’s on-site and company-wide safety protocols. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, proactively mitigating risk, and cultivating a safety-first culture on all assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Oversight & Compliance

  • Conduct routine site visits and safety inspections.
  • Maintain and enforce safety and security plans on assigned projects.
  • Review and investigate incidents; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain all required safety documentation, including OSHA forms and incident logs.

Training & Education

  • Lead toolbox talks and jobsite safety training for employees and management.
  • Keep training documentation updated and ensure full team participation.
  • Support the development of safety incentive programs.

Program Enforcement

  • Prepare non-compliance letters and maintain violation logs.
  • Issue citations and escalate safety concerns to senior management.
  • Manage fire prevention plans, hazardous material programs, and weather emergency protocols.
  • Oversee MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) control procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred.
  • 1–5 years of direct experience in construction safety.
  • A minimum of 10 years in construction or a related legal/regulatory field, with proven leadership ability.
  • OSHA 500 "Train the Trainer" certification required.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA standards, building codes, and jobsite protocols.
  • Familiarity with financial, operational, HR, and QA/QC procedures in construction environments.
