Job Description

A well-established produce distributor is searching for an Operations Manager to join their team in NC. This position will be responsible for leading in the development, implementation and management of the operations strategy as well as provide overall leadership and direction to operations management and staff.

Job Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager will lead operational employees’ responsibilities and job assignments, lead warehouse/transportation procedures and operations, and engage in strategic planning for establishing and maintaining operational procedures.

  • Overseeing all outbound shipments to customers
  • Managing all inbound receiving. Ensuring the receiving team consistently follows all receiving protocols and food safety measures to consistently have accurate inventory quantities and quality
  • Analyze and optimize warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and warehouse layout and design
  • Daily routing and driver logistics
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that all products are handled and stored safely and appropriately
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of professionals
  • Direct and engage with employees to create an enjoyable company culture while always maintaining a safety-first mindset
  • Managing warehouse and driver safety
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Maintain food health and safety regulations

Required qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in operational logistics (5-7 years preferred)
  • Valid Drivers License with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into a truck - physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo
  • Time management to ensure deliveries are on-schedule
  • Ability and motivation to learn industry specific skills
  • Must be older than 18 years of age

Preferred qualifications but not required:

  • Ability to speak Spanish
  • WMS Experience
  • Food Safety certifications
  • Licensed or Certified Forklift operator

Salary: 100-120K, Relocation assistance.
