Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and negotiate land and site acquisition agreements (leases and purchases) to support project development.
  • Assist in formulating and executing strategies for acquiring key sites, both rural and industrial.
  • Candidate can be virtual but must be located within PJM region. Local candidates in Arlington HQ also an Option.
  • Develop understanding of renewable energy projects and engage with landowners and stakeholders to educate and facilitate successful partnerships.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party consultants and internal teams to gain community support for projects.
  • Work with public agency staff to ensure timely approval of environmental and other necessary reviews.
  • Support rezoning efforts as needed to ensure project compliance.
  • Monitor and manage budgets related to land acquisition, landowner relations, and cash flow projections.
  • Represent the company in public presentations at stakeholder meetings, project forums, and policy discussions.
  • Facilitate training and provide technical support for new staff or projects as necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners and community groups to foster positive perceptions of the project.
  • Travel, as needed, to engage with landowners and stakeholders, ensuring smooth project progression.
  • Prepare acquisition documents such as leases, options, and memorandums; ensure timely filing with local authorities.
  • Keep project data and documentation up to date and communicate progress with all relevant parties in real time.
  • Conduct initial due diligence using provided software to assess the suitability and availability of targeted properties, including reviewing title, environmental conditions, and zoning requirements.
  • Work within project timelines to meet goals and deliverables.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with large-scale project transactions (e.g., infrastructure, energy, or similar sectors) is beneficial.
  • Comfortable addressing diverse groups, including public bodies and landowners, and representing both company and landowner interests.
  • Familiarity with project management systems and cloud-based tools, especially those for tracking contractual obligations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Experience with land acquisition, energy projects, or real property management is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Commercial real estate experience is a plus but not required.

Additional Considerations:

  • Willingness to travel as required, approximately 30%-50%, depending on project needs.
  • Experience in the energy or renewable energy sectors is a plus but not essential.
