Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified NETA Field Technician to join our growing team. This role involves performing testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems, primarily in the field. The ideal candidate will be certified by the InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA) or on the path to certification, and have strong technical, safety, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical testing and maintenance on low, medium, and high-voltage electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, and cables.
  • Conduct acceptance and maintenance testing per NETA standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in the field.
  • Accurately document test results, generate reports, and maintain project records.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and other personnel in a professional manner.
  • Travel to various job sites as required (may involve overnight travel).

Qualifications:

  • NETA Level II, III, or IV Certification preferred (or strong intent to achieve certification).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical testing or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of test equipment such as Doble, Megger, Omicron, and Fluke.
  • Strong understanding of electrical diagrams, schematics, and safety procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, NFPA 70E, NETA ATS/MTS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in challenging field conditions.
