Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Educational Director located in New York, NY. The Educational Director will oversee the creation and implementation of educational programs, manage teams, communicate with parents and staff, and ensure compliance with educational standards. Daily tasks include curriculum development, staff training, and progress assessment to foster a high-quality learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • New York State Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2) — required
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an early childhood setting — required
  • Minimum of 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role — preferred
  • New York State Teacher Certification in Students with Disabilities (Birth–Grade 2) — preferred
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development, pedagogy, and classroom best practices
  • Familiarity with NYC DOE and OCFS guidelines and standards
  • Proven ability to support, coach, and motivate teaching staff
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Bilingual abilities a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional leadership and mentorship to teaching staff across classrooms
  • Oversee the implementation of developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive curricula
  • Ensure compliance with DOE, DOH, and OCFS regulations and quality standards
  • Conduct classroom observations, coaching, and feedback sessions to support teacher growth
  • Monitor child assessments and ensure appropriate documentation and developmental tracking
  • Lead staff trainings and professional development initiatives
  • Serve as a point of contact for families regarding educational programming and classroom support
  • Support licensing and inspection readiness, as well as internal quality assurance efforts
  • Collaborate with the administrative team on hiring, onboarding, and scheduling
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture focused on child and family outcomes
