About the position

Vespera Resort and Peregrine Hospitality is seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to become the Assistant General Manager. Vespera Resort is a Marriott Autograph Collection property featuring 124 guest rooms in the heart of Pismo Beach, a classic California Beach Town. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to operate in a branded environment while delivering exceptional guest experience and financial results. Ideal candidates should have a solid background in Front Office or Food & Beverage Operations with aspirations to become a Hotel General Manager. A track record of quantifiable results, passionate leadership, creativity, and high energy is essential to deliver an inspirational guest experience and to motivate, nurture, and lead a team committed to personalized service, innovation, and dynamism. Candidates must have at least 5 years of full-service Hotel Management experience, at the AGM, Restaurant GM, Director of Outlets, and/or Director of Front Office level.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all front of house operations with direct oversight over Front Desk, Valet, and F&B Front of House
  • Serve as General Manager/Senior Leader in the absence of the General Manager
  • Breathing life into this unique high-brand identity hotel.
  • Oversight of an upscale destination Restaurant/Bar, 124 guest rooms, and Meeting/Banquet Rooms.
  • Ensuring financial success by aggressively pursuing revenue goals while managing expenses.
  • Meeting or exceeding each year's budgeted revenues, NOI, and cash flow as established jointly with ownership prior to the start of each calendar year.
  • Ensuring effective and efficient control of the hotel's operations along with compliance of all franchise standards, while maintaining the highest levels of recognition in quality assurance, guest service and satisfaction, and employee inspiration, integrity, and satisfaction.
  • Responsibility for regularly communicating and reporting to ownership, including monthly meetings, to review performance of financial and strategic objectives, and provide a regular updated forecast for future performance, as well as informal meetings and follow up as requested.
  • Setting an example of high ethical standards at all times, and hands-on involvement, enthusiasm, and availability throughout all areas including sales, private events, and guest relations.
  • Maintaining effective open-door communication system that crosses departmental lines in order to reach all employees.
  • Maintaining a proactive human resource function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, wage and benefits administration, etc.

Requirements

  • 5 years of senior level hotel experience.
  • Full-service hotel management experience at the Restaurant GM, Director of Front Office, Director of Outlets, or AGM level.
  • Extensive food and beverage experience.
  • Strong background in hotel operations, sales, marketing, and revenue management.
  • Demonstrated track record of quantifiable results and passionate leadership.
  • Experience with Marriott Autograph hotels is a plus.

Work Hours

  • Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
  • Scheduling includes holidays, nights, overnights, and weekends depending on hotel events and functions.

Position Starts at: $105-125K DOE plus benefits, 401K, Vacation/sick and Employee perks
